South East #Scotland is launching a #Transport to #Employment programme to help people overcome transport barriers that can limit access to jobs and training. Funded by the #Scottish Government, the initiative focuses on affordability, service availability and routes that do not match shift patterns.
The programme includes support for parents through schools, better links to major workplaces, flexible rural transport and improved access to healthcare sites. It also works with Local Employability Partnerships and local authorities to coordinate services.
Projects include new bus services in the Scottish Borders and West Lothian, tailored support for parents through FEL Scotland, and training and employment opportunities through organisations such as The Bike Station and Powering Futures. The aim is to improve access to work, support families and help tackle child poverty across the region.
