New car, who dis?

(Anyone with an #EV3 want to tell me what settings I should play with first?) #ev

@simon Not sure about 'first', but if you haven't had a car with auto break hold, it's a really nice small feature that makes a big difference in the long run, so I'd ensure that's turned on.
@simon add the “forward attention assist” screen to your shortcut (star) button, to quickly stop the pinging… it’s an excellent car but full of safety nagging.

@mtchl Ironically, until you know what all the dings are I'd say they do the opposite of safety.

*ding* — takes eyes off road to search dash for clues about what the hell that meant

@simon yup, there’s a nice feedback loop where you get yelled at for not looking at the road, while searching the dash for the meaning of the previous alert…

On the upside the actual driver assist (lane following / adaptive cruise) is fantastic.

@mtchl Can't wait to try out adaptive cruise on the weekend.

@simon I’ve had a play with the EV5. From what I have read, the regen paddles just adjust to preference, it apparently regenerates the same regardless of setting (unless switched off).

I think I read that on the Aussie EV5 Flaceblerk group.

Also I don’t think it will regen if over a high 90s % state of charge, as a battery protection measure.

Enjoy the EV3. Funky looking car!

@simon I'm imagining you're tooting this from the on-screen car web browser 😁
@phocks does it have one? Probably
