The US government is asking all/most of their employees to sign NDAs. Journalism associations, such as the National Association of Science Writers, say the move would muzzle sources needed for science (and other important) stories. This would affect journalists in other countries since we rely on the same sources. Comments, which can be posted by anyone, MUST be in by June 26, 2026.

The Trump Administration, through the Office of Personnel Management, recently [proposed a new rule requiring federal employees to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements](https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/05/27/2026-10471/confidential-government-information-nondisclosure-agreement) (NDAs), whicg could restrict the flow of information regarding science, health, and environmental research and policy.
