Test ride on some new tires and new waxed chain. 700x25's were the right choice. The Panaracer bargain tires ($10 each!) are great. Don't know how they do on puncture resistance or racing, but perfectly fine for my uses. #BikeTooter
@ai6yr waxed chains are such a revelation
@autolycos @ai6yr what kind of wax? long-chain (hydrocarbon) paraffin type wax or something synthetic?
@spmatich @autolycos I'm running a mix of beeswax (my own!) and paraffin, no additives. Works great. I suspect beeswax alone would work, but it doesn't melt as easily as paraffin does.

@ai6yr @spmatich for my first 10 years of chain waxing, I used plain old canning wax or candle wax and an instant pot

Last year I went with Silka in a crock pot

@ai6yr @spmatich if there's no additive package it still works well, but reapplication tends to be required earlier
