I have correct passwd for my yahoo mail but they want me to install what'sapp for verification - which i don't want to do - please just have some neutral verification options

@gary_alderson @jerry you don't have to use Google's 2FA app. You can setup a time based code using many different apps. 2FAS is what I use and is FOSS.
Passkey support is another 2FA method and you can use a password manager or a device/browser for that.
Neither of those options require google or a specific vendor.
