@Scoll I've NEVER posted "quiet public". I barely even know what it IS!
All of my posts are public, unless they're a private mention. I don't do many of those; they're basically just for DMs, as far as I'm concerned. Although I know that they're not truly private, and Mastodon posts aren't encrypted.
I wouldn't be surprised if I'm being shadowbanned somehow, though.
I've been censored rather frequently on both of my current servers: kolektiva.social and beige.party.
I really HATE censorship. There's no language to express how much.

I thought shadowbanning wasn't supposed to be a thing on Mastodon?
It's the federating, sometimes it just drops posts. But its kind funny in the way that it never drops my more lib-coded follows.
Depending on which instance you are on, you may propagate by different paths. More controversial instances sometimes get defederated by large hubs. That leads to this thing I'm observing.
Kolektiva was DEFINITELY one of those more controversial instances. I didn't think beige was. (Who defeds beige??)

I need to find another instance. But the only ones that are strong on free speech are apparently Nazi and right-wing ones, and those are mostly defederated by the rest of Mastodon.
I'm not a Nazi, nor right wing. Although I've been called both by neoliberals and Democrats. But that's because I'm so far left that they can't stand it.
@Quasit I think the solution is to be on an instance specifically themed for a certain topic and discuss on the local feed. That way you don't have to be concerned with federation. It'd be like old-school forums. Kolektiva had that vibe, when I was there.
