@82mhz a decent sailfishOS phone with US LTE support would be kinda nice 🤔 this is surprising, as much as I personally hate T9 because I never could get used to it.
@Officeplant
I'm exactly the opposite, I loved T9 and never got used to using touchscreens ;)
@82mhz @Officeplant to be fair I didn't have texting access until android phones got cheap prepaid models and I got my own phone plan. All my flipphone years we under the threat of parental violence if I used more than a few texts a month at 10¢ a text (receiving and sending)
@Officeplant
Ah, got it. I used mobile phones with a T9 keyboard for 10 years before touch screen phones became a thing, so I got very good at typing messages this way ;)
@82mhz 2004-2012 so not quite as long but a long time spent in the hell that was 500-1000 minutes a month shared between three people. I did used to envy my college roommate who could respond via t9 without even looking at his phone.

@Officeplant
I could do that ;) But now if you gave me a T9 phone I'd be lost...

And I remember the days of a limited number of minutes (and SMS messages) too... it was very annoying at times!
