BOTH of these are unofficial--- he has used the correct PTV format and printed on to a vinyl sticker. From the post: 'The point is not that members of the public should have to sticker their way out of every government failure.

The point is that this was an obvious problem with an extremely small solution.

The ‘hard’ infrastructure already exists - that is the actual path, the station and unfortunately the car park. What is missing is the information that allows people to understand how those pieces connect.

Wayfinding is a kind of infrastructure. A route can be physically continuous while still feeling completely disconnected if people cannot confidently follow it.'

@portphillipbug I would dispute the statement "The hard infrastructure already exists".

There's a "Cyclists Dismount" sign in the photo - if you're not permitted to use a bicycle with that infrastructure, it's not bicycle infrastructure.

@phillboyack Yes, it could be a lot better. When they renovated Oakleigh station I put in a request for a wide underpass that would allow cyclists. That didn't happen; I was informed the long term plan is to build a crossing further east at Hanover St. That might explain why the path misleads one into thinking it continues along Haughton Rd--- that's where it might go in future. I'd be interested to hear any updates on these plans!
