The people of Ukraine are awake: they face an existential threat from Russia, not the EU or US.
Russia is bombing their schools, hospitals and homes.
Russia is killing their citizens.
Russia is the invader.
@loupdescimes Yes, I agree; such comparisons are difficult, if not impermissible, killed Russian children are not even listed in EU media, or even in NGO reports here in Germany, a fact that goes unmentioned btw -
The massacre of children in Palestine is incomparably heinous - and continues!
I must put forward one more argument: Armies are fighting between Ukraine and Russia, and the civilian population is being evacuated, whereas in Gaza, no one can flee!
@villebooks @loupdescimes I don't disagree that there is a difference between the situation in Gaza and the situation in Ukraine, and the lives of Gazans are worse, but the aim of both regimes (Israel and Russia) is the same: to eliminate the local population and occupy the land.
The key difference is Ukraine has the means to fight back. If it didn't every Ukrainian city would look like Mariupol.
