As a French, I wouldn't know cause it doesn't exist in our legal system ; but has the King of England the possibility to pardon people like Trump does in USA.

In other words : could His Majesty (lol) pardon the 4 young activists just condemned for occupying Elbit and that got sentenced to harsh jail time ?
And if yes, what are the steps of such a decision ?

Thx for your answers.

@MMRnmd What we remember from school is something along the lines of "yes in theory, but it doesn't happen - the last time it happened was something like 1727."

@MMRnmd

We have the Royal Prerogative of Mercy…but it only extends to sentencing length, it cannot overturn a conviction.

‘Use of the royal prerogative of mercy (RPM) is exercised by the sovereign, under the advice of his ministers’

King George IV was last monarch to try and use it on his own initiative and it did not go well…

@JugglingWithEggs All right, get it.
So there is absolutrely no chance the 4 of Palestine Action would get a Royal Pardon (since in Wiki it's said "...under the advise of government ministers..."

Ths a lot for your answer.

@MMRnmd @JugglingWithEggs

given the king's right positions, not a chance even if he could.

let the hoi polloi rot!

@MMRnmd Yet another reason to remove Starmer and his neo-Liiberal Zionist party as soon as it can be done safely.
