HeiGIT🛻 Transport emissions vary along a route depending on road type, slope, and speed.
At #FOSSGIS 2026, @BKG presented an approach combining #openrouteservice, #OpenStreetMap road data, and emission model data from the Umweltbundesamt to calculate and visualize COâ‚‚ and NOâ‚‚ emissions by route segment. The results are shown in the RoutingPlus portal, helping identify higher-emission sections and supporting more emission-transparent mobility planning.
