a quick recommendation of Aber Kawas in State Senate District 12, and of AOC in NY-14

in the comments in http://harihareswara.net/posts/2026/2026-nyc-primary-election-congress-assembly-senate-comptroller/ , three things that would help change my mind about State Senate District 13

Edited 20 June to update image as I've updated my SD13 recommendation

Several of my friends have, since I published those recommendations, tried to persuade me to support Ramos instead of González-Rojas for New York State Senate District 13. You know what's most efficacious in making me think about changing my mind? Nearly a million dollars in dark money swooping into the race to support her opponent:

The last-minute influx, the biggest ever for a legislative primary, boosts Jessica González-Rojas days before New York's primary election.

I've updated my recommendation for the Queens-wide judicial election, after a well-reasoned blog comment changed my mind.

Voters can select two candidates. I'm still recommending Edmond Wong. And, for harm reduction, I'm planning to vote for Edward Irizarry too.

@brainwane I voted based on your recommendations the other day. Just state comptroller and judges, unfortunately there are no progressive challengers for state assembly member (another friend has been sharing a wonderful list) or other offices. The whole thing took 5 minutes.
@rejinl I'm glad I could be handy. If your friend's wonderful list is public I'd love to link to it!

Bluesky Social

@brainwane curious, is the casino considered to be a bigger deal than Cuomo? Maybe I'm too far west but the casino feels far less prominent of an issue here.

(I guess the former still needs to be / can be stopped while the latter was defeated so its less pressing.)

@legoktm Both the Cuomo endorsement and the casino are absolutely huge issues here. There are many people in the district who are fundamentally dedicating all of their activist time to stopping the casino. Quite a lot of people consider the casino more important than the Cuomo endorsement, and then there are also people who feel the reverse.
