Good for #ChristineFréchette; I don't think her predecessor ever came on English radio.

I do not plan to vote for the #CAQ in the next election, but #anglophones, please do not automatically vote for the Liberals. Encourage the parties to compete for your vote.

@mpjgregoire

Thank you for sharing this.

She is likeable and measured in her words (maybe a function of it being langue seconde. I heard that Mulroney in French was much more freewheeling and at ease than in English.)

If I weren't in the ROC, I would be considering her party.

But doesn't Quebec have a strong tradition of turfing out governments after two terms?

@RuthODay2 Mostly true; the Liberals won three consecutive mandates in 2003, 2007 and 2008, but otherwise that hadn't happened since the 1950s, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politics_of_Quebec

(Let me add that it's healthy in a parliamentary democracy to oust a government after two or three mandates.)

It's unlikely that Ms. Fréchette will win another majority, but really all bets are off for the next election. Current polls show five parties within an 18% range, from the PQ at 29% to Québec Solidaire at 11%.
