The answer is I can now connect it via Serial with my Psion 3c emulator running on the laptop, so transferring files becomes a breeze! That's good, right?
The Psion Workabout is now probably best suited to being a gaming device (real world, Shane - you're never going to use this for productivity). Here it is running @cyningstan's fun Puluc game.
