At this point it had become a home for the elderly, but since its beginning in in the early 1700s, it was a school housing promising young boys. Ludvig Holberg and Petter Dass were among its more famous pupils. There were three main subjects, latin, faith, and song/music.
It was located just next to the Bergen cathedral (seen on the right-hand side of the image).
