Solutions create problems, take 264

I use Joplin to keep notes on the phone. All I need is a scratch pad that I can write in _with utter reliability_. And this is beyond near every app I've ever tried. "Don't lose my data" is a shockingly rare feature these days. A lot of editors hide browsers these days, and the first thing they do when I lose signal is.. try to reload. FFFFFUUUUUU!

Anyways, so I use Joplin. I don't need most of its features. Definitely not the cloud sync, lest it start reloading. But really not even folders, etc.

At some point they added a view for "all notes" across all folders. Didn't bother me, I don't use folders.

Then they added a trash can. So I no longer delete my tiny files, they go into trash and can be recovered. Ok, no problem I thought.

But now I find I often accidentally tap multiple times to save a note and return to the list view. The second tap takes me to the "all notes" view which also shows notes in the trash.

Adding features: very very hard.

@akkartik Maybe Markor is a better fit for your needs. No cloud, no sync. Hardly ever updated.

@khinsen Oh thanks for showing this to me. I'm trying it out, and liking it so far.

One lovely little detail: when I tap out of a note back to the list view the note I was just editing flashes for a fraction of a second, to help my eye orient to where I am/was on the list.

@akkartik Oh, I wasn't aware that the author of Markor is in the Fediverse (OK, I didn't bother to look...).

So.... thanks from me as well, @gsantner !

@khinsen @akkartik @akkartik

Welcome. Enjoy ;)

I'm trying to understand how Markor decides when to use a drag to move the cursor/selection vs scroll the document. So far it seems like:

* It remembers what areas of the document have been inserted since the last save.
* Swipes in that area drag the cursor.
* Swipes outside that area, that were written before the last save, scroll the page.

Not sure I understand it completely, but this seems quite thoughtful!
