For #MountainMonday I have this view from Foster's Point, an easily reachable vista point along the long-distance Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) in the Laguna Mountains of San Diego County, California. In spring, the transition from higher-elevation green mountain chaparral to the barren desert is clearly visible.

@alexskunz I dropped off hikers on 2 separate occasions at the beginning of the PCT at the Mexican border in Campo. One made it to Cuyamaca and I picked him up there. It was harder than he thought. The second made it to Canada and knew what he was in store for. Took him all summer to hike the whole trail.
@afl hiking the entire length of the PCT is a dream, but I'm not sure whether it's realistic... living in San Diego, I can visit easily and do nice day hikes on and around it. The Laguna Mountains are particularly nice because the PCT and local trails can be combined for good loop hikes.
