SEEKING ADVICE
Retoot for reach appreciated!

Apparently with my very weird situation (dual-citizenship and survivor of an American spouse) keeping an address in the USA would save me a lot of trouble on the long term.
I've no family in the US so I'm looking at virtual box service.

If there are any American expat around here who are using a virtual box (not just a forwarding address), I'd be interested in your experience and recommendations, please.

Thank you!

@aSweetGentleman My friend has a couple of suggestions: iPostal1 is a good address, but it’s a business address, not a residential address which causes issues for banks. He said this service is good for a residential address: https://savvynomad.io/address-with-lease-utility-bill for a FL address. This helps with taxes as well. There isn’t an easy option. We are mulling over a couple of options, but mail forwarding after taking up residence somewhere/somehow is the best of not great options.
Florida Residential Address with Lease Agreement & Utility Bill

Get a bona fide U.S. residential address via a signed lease agreement and utility bill to help satisfy banks’ and DMV documentation requirements. Enjoy fast setup with concierge support.

@PamelaSchure Thank you!
Yes, it's exactly as you said, keeping a residential address is the best of not great options!
@aSweetGentleman @GeePawHill I’m using https://ipostal1.com - reliability might be different from location to location, but the overall service is good.

@aSweetGentleman

I used a small business local to me. Something I really liked about them was that they were willing to open mail and read it to me over the phone, or filter out the pages of junk and just send me the one page that was actually informative. They were very flexible with whatever I wanted to do

I don't suppose that a corporation with multiple branches would be like that. So you might see if there's somebody local to you who you feel you can have a good rapport with. Or maybe you are already not in the States?

@NilaJones Thanks! It's a good idea but indeed I can't get this service in person, I have to access and manage it online.
@aSweetGentleman iPostal1 can do residential. That's what I use and it seems fine. Never tried any other service though.
