One thing I think #starfinder2e did better then #pathfinder2e player core is putting the basic weapon power increases in the PC. That said #sf2 GMC should prob had some room for expanding equipment. That said I think both could been a bit more plain about the need for weapon power increase.
I wish they’d come with text discussing the impact of weapon level and how it actually plays into player character power budget. Way too many GMs are willing to give out anything that doesn’t adhere to the Treasure by Level table, which means people complaining about things like item DCs eat up a lot of oxygen in the room. There’s so much power there to really create feelings of dread and overwhelm, or catharsis and power just by withholding or granting items of various relative levels that a lot of players believe are straight up against the spirit of the game.
