Putin went on a culture site raid last night. Ukrainian Foreign minister Andrii Sybiha writes:

"Russians severely damaged the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra; bombed the historic Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studios, destroying Ukraine’s largest and oldest costumes collection; struck the Kharkiv Art Museum and the Dnipro House Of Organ And Chamber Music.

Russia has no justification for ruining lives, targeting residential areas, and destroying Ukrainian culture. It must be held accountable for its crimes."

@randahl it is not about justification. It is more the world has no means to enforce Russia to cease hostilities. And Putin knows it.

Russia has many paid friends in most Western countries.

@randahl
Who is responsible for Russias strategy, and which side are they on?

Ukraine: Targets soldiers and military bases. Killed a million soldiers and destroyed thousands of tanks.

Russia: Targets kindergartens and culture sites. Killed thousands of children and destroyed invaluable history.

Ukraine: Keeps improving their position.
Russia: Running out of soldiers and tanks.

Is someone near the top trying to intentionally lose the war?

@leeloo this is just a guess: I do not think the Russians have the satellites and intelligence to locate valuable targets. I think that is why they aim for civilian targets that make zero difference to the outcome of the war.

If they had the target info, they would not waste expensive missiles on targets that are irrelevant to the war effort.

@randahl
That's only half an explanation. Leaving those weapons in storage until they have a real use for them would still be a better choice.
