Most sleep science doesn't seem to apply to me (the part where disturbed sleep increases your insulin resistance, even in healthy young people in fact, does).
The band thinks I only went to bed at 2:45. No, that's when missiles stopped flying, and I went back. An hour in bed between 0:20 and 1:25 it categorised as a nap. Couldn't fall asleep for half of it anyway, and it didn't track sleep stages for naps.
Still, "you don't get enough deep sleep if you go to bed late" is a lie in my case. That's my normal percentage, and compared to last night of 8h18min, it's only 25min less. With all that, it still shows 99% sleep efficiency.
When I sleep little, I cut on light sleep, and can get even more REM.
When I'm cold during sleep, it gets shallower, with 45% light sleep or more, and I usually remember that. When I'm hot, I wake up to toss my blanket, and the band notices that as waking up. So far erring on the cold side has been better.
If at all possible, avoid including missiles and drones in your sleep routine. That's my morning pep talk to you :)
