Canonically Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant are time lords, and their TARDIS is bigger on the inside.

Top is the outside of their trailer, bottom is a scene just seconds after on the inside of the same trailer.

@NanoRaptor Which means, the whole mosquito plot was only a cover act for them bringing the real dinosaurs' eggs from our ancient past.
@agturcz YES! This has been my headcanon from time to time. (As in from ~66mya to ~1991
@NanoRaptor @agturcz or perhaps the whole movie was set in the Jurassic, with modern equipment transported back. That would explain how some of the dinosaurs were able to breathe.
@NanoRaptor So the supposed recreation of dinosaurs from the DNA was just a cover up. They simply brought them back in the TARDIS.
@NanoRaptor It's a trapezoidal trailer. The wide end is the one at the back on the first image.

@NanoRaptor Sam Neill and Laura Dern playing as a time traveling Steed-and-Ms-Peel-esque problem solving duo?

Yes please.

@jschrab @NanoRaptor

Now there's a remake I could go for. Steed and Ms Peel...

@NanoRaptor And the Californian vegetation in Montana is sus. 😉
@thejessiekirk @NanoRaptor that always bugs me. I was recently watching something set in Honduras, but they were running through a forest full of western red cedar. 🤦‍♂️
@josh0 Oh dear lord that's so bad it's funny @NanoRaptor
@thejessiekirk @NanoRaptor it took me a while to figure out that not everybody pays attention to the plants around them. What really drove it home was, when driving down the California central coast, I was asked if we were near the ocean, and I merely pointed out that our entire view to the west was ice plant covered dunes, which was apparently unhelpful…
@thejessiekirk @NanoRaptor funnily enough, until I realized that, I didn’t even think I paid attention to plants myself. I don’t often know them by name, but I am very aware of the flora around me.
@josh0 @thejessiekirk @NanoRaptor Just watch any Hollywood show where a trail is being blazed through the jungle by some dude with a machete. They hack one leaf out of the way and take another step forward. It's almost as if you can hear the plant leasing company cha-ching another $50 off the damage deposit.
@NanoRaptor It's not bigger on the inside, it makes *you* smaller when you're inside.

@NanoRaptor

"Ah, I remember this velociraptor. I buried him here."

"What, Dr. Grant?"

"He was just making a joke. Sweep the dust away more gently."

"...Yes... Dr. Sattler."

@NanoRaptor who else would you want to evaluate your dinosaur island than people who can actually compare it to the real thing?

@NanoRaptor the lighting is crazy impressive in this shot. There's two strong spotlights coming in from the left and right. They give Hammond a silhouette by rim-lighting him against the darker background, and they give Grant a silhouette by creating a shaft of white light behind him.

Combined with the white clothes it really accentuates that contrast between the untouched rich man and the down-in-the-dirt archaeologists.

@NanoRaptor I saw a talk at the last London Worldcon about how the Millenium Falcon is about twice as big on the inside, which is why all the books with floorplans/blueprints of it struggle rather. But I suppose it does explain how capable it is given its size.
@NanoRaptor If they instead used Time Lord powers to convert the world to 4:3 before this was shot, then they wouldn't have had to make the trailer bigger on the inside.
@NanoRaptor See also GRIMM -- I sold the production company the 23-footer they cut in half and used for interiors, which was represented by a lil teardrop in external shots.
@NanoRaptor The real question is where was that cliff the jeep fell down when the goat was quietly standing there?
@NanoRaptor Either that or a team of stone-cutters excavated the mesa behind their trailer to make space for a really oddly-shaped extension. 🤔
@NanoRaptor photogrammetry of the window confirms.
@NanoRaptor is that a PowerBook? Did you put that there? Is it the one Jeff Goldblum used to save the world in Independence Day?
@europlus @NanoRaptor Wasn’t the Independence Day one like a 5300 or something? The Jurassic one is a 100 series.
@europlus @NanoRaptor The real question is how the computer survives being so close to Dr. Grant.
@NanoRaptor also the door opens one way on the outside but the other way on the inside
@NanoRaptor : I had never noticed this feature!
@NanoRaptor
I am not saying you are incorrect, but hear me out. If we follow this logic, Ash Williams is also a timelord.
@NanoRaptor they just used a real estate agent's camera for the interior shots
@NanoRaptor for a second I thought that was the guy from quantum leap
@NanoRaptor it would absolutely be something a time lord would do to have easy access to dinosaurs but still dig up fossils for the love of the game
@NanoRaptor This is Hammond watching the side of his television all over again!

@NanoRaptor its not canonical until someone fires it out of a cannon. those are the rules

also headcanon is when you launch something out of your mouth

@NanoRaptor I mean there is also a resemblance with the hat...

@NanoRaptor

The light in the window is also blasting like the Sun's on the ground!

@NanoRaptor Wow, I never noticed this.
