@tuxedocomputers #linux #linuxmint #tuxedo #tuxedoos

Okay, just got a #tuxedo #linux laptop. I am not able to figure out how to use the file manager (#dolphin) in root mode. All the solutions suggested by articles (e. g. https://www.adamsdesk.com/posts/dolphin-enable-administrator-root-access/) are not working. In linux mint it was fairly easy.

Does anybody has experience with #tuxedoos?

Dolphin File Manager: Enable Administrator or Root Access

Attain the necessary steps on how to activate the administrator or root mode access using KDE Plasma’s default file manager application Dolphin.

There were a lot of discussions in the past about whether Dolphin should be used as root at all. So ways to use Dolphin as root were mostly removed. Instead, you are supposed to use Krusader, which has a built-in root-mode.
Should you want to stick to Dolphin, make sure kio-admin is installed. Dolphins context menu should show something like 'Open as Administrator' Don't forget to exit that mode when you are done editing.

@tuxedocomputers I see, thanks for clarification!
