#threeGoodThings

1) in my quest to replace my broken washer and old dryer, I discovered there exists such a thing as all-in-one washer dryer, and was small-kine mind-blown!

2) Ate #plantains for the first time in a loooong time.

3) Caught part of the Kamehameha Day Parade after my workout this morning.

@biped808 if you haven’t made a purchase yet, do some serious research on the washer dryer all-in-one. There are some serious tradeoffs. If I recall correctly, drying isn’t so great. My data is about 3 years old, so maybe that's changed.
@jswright61 I haven’t purchased yet, and will wait in hopes of a July 4th sale. I’ve been slowly researching my options though. Thanks for the tip—I saw that in some reviews, and will keep that in mind.
@biped808 @jswright61
I’ve had one since 2022 since that is all that will fit in my laundry space. Definitely not a good choice if you need to do lots of laundry, but pretty good if you have a load or two a week to do. Since the dryer doesn’t vent outside the drying cycle is long. For me it is usually start a load in the morning, do all kinds of other stuff, and fold in the afternoon after the “cool down” cycle finishes. A large load can take 8 hours from start to the end of the cool down cycle.
Mine also auto-dispenses detergent and softener, so it is as close to “start it and forget it” as possible.
I like mine a lot, and like that I can start it in the morning or late at night and not worry about it while I go about my day (or sleep). But I can definitely see it being the wrong choice for many people.
@biped808 @jswright61 And mine most definitely can not do a load in 98 minutes like the claim in the picture. Mine also is much smaller.
@Z_Zed_Zed @jswright61 Thanks for the review! I have limited space as well, but currently, my place came with a stacked washer/dryer that the previous owners had, so I could do that again. But I would love to be able to install shelving above it to give me more space. Did you purchase the pedestal unit, as well?
@biped808 @jswright61 I did not get the pedestal and I regret it (because I am 6'4")
@biped808 plantains!!! Nom, nom, nom 🤤 I love me some of that!!!
@noy I feel like they’re less common in Hawaiʻi. I first tried them in the South, at a Jamaican restaurant in Georgia, and then when I visited the DC area, but it’s not something I see a lot out here. Definitely yummy!
@biped808 surprised to hear that less common there. I feel like I ate more times than I can remember in Thailand as a child and as snacky thing. Yes! They are amazingly yummy and you can dip in anything… personally, bring back some great childhood memories with my grandma too 😊 as she got older she didn’t have a lot of food she could eat because issue with chewing, but anything bananas she was able to eat 😄
