I remain unconvinced that these things are anything more but lumbering behemoths in the Drone War. They are what Battleships were to the WWII theatre, powerful but vulnerable and outdated by new developments, (ironically 'Aircraft Carriers')

Thinking about how much of the Russian Navy Ukraine has taken out without any aircraft carriers or missile cruisers

Also, they are fucking expensive.

MoD reports โ€˜minor technical issueโ€™ with aircraft carrier docked in Norway

HMS Prince of Wales expected to sail โ€˜in the coming daysโ€™ according to British government spokesperson

The Guardian

As far as I can tell, the US has an Air Carrier group near the Strait of Hormuz but not too close as the drones would sink billions of dollars worth of equipment, not to mention the sailors who'd drown.

A bit shit really...

@Lazarou After seeing the fate of the Russian fleet in the Black Sea I suspect much rethunking is going on. At what point will Trump order them in?
@Wen if they're going for that island, after telling everyone they're going for it.....oh my, gonna be a lot of dead marines. Helicopters are drone bait
@Lazarou
The aircraft carrier was obsolete long ago. They are nostly big juicy targets.
