The USA picked a fight with Iran and lost
Russia picked a fight with Ukraine, and is losing.
Modern warfare is strong on defence, very hard for the attacker. No 20th century style Blitzkriegs across multiple countries, it's losing thousands of human beings to get a few square miles of no-man's land, or losing half your missile stock and having to pay the victim $300 billion.

Denys is in a good mood, Ukraine can strike targets around Moscow with little resistance, and fuel is being rationed across mighty Russia....it's seems 'surrender' might be in the air.
Ukraine feeling lucky after seeing the USA capitulate to the middle power it chose a fight with.

Can the British Military come up with a solution to this problem, or are they just about kickbacks and fighting the USA's wars of Oil?
Thinking about all the ingenuity we had during WWII, and how none of that is around today. The LAST thing the UK Military wants is out of the box thinkers, there's a grift to maintain!

Called it. Years of playing Civilisation games have paid off.
Also just following what is happening in Ukraine, it's preview of what this century will throw at us and we should be taking notes rather than pretending it away (like we did with Climate Change for 20 years)
This, I can believe. I bet if we followed Ukraine's lead and invested in what works in a drone war and drop what doesn't , we won't even need to increase spending.
How many boondoggles are currently on the books, stuff we won't need yet we're paying for?

I remain unconvinced that these things are anything more but lumbering behemoths in the Drone War. They are what Battleships were to the WWII theatre, powerful but vulnerable and outdated by new developments, (ironically 'Aircraft Carriers')
Thinking about how much of the Russian Navy Ukraine has taken out without any aircraft carriers or missile cruisers
Also, they are fucking expensive.

Ukraine did this without any real help from the UK, perhaps some money but our expertise is outdated now and we are a silly island.
