have any of y’all been to an #NBA game at #MSG during the regular season?

this was back during the Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose era. yes, it was a #Knicks vs #Bulls game.

the seats were so far away from the court, it was worse than watching on a tv. the players looked tiny.

and then there’s the volume of the cheers. i developed tinitus shortly after that. didn't know we needed ear plugs.

i can't imagine how loud it is today in there.

never again. tv is fine for me.

My dad and brother (the aforementioned Knicks fans) flew up to Boston for a Knicks - Celtics Eastern Conference Semi-Finals game on Mother's Day in 1984 wearing Knicks jerseys and hats

They were booed so loudly, their attendance (and mild abuse by nearby fans) made the Boston papers the next day

As loud as NY'ers at MSG can be, they probably can't compete with the crowd at The Garden in Boston

@kims can totally imagine. bostonians live to hate us LMAO
@blogdiva @kims It’s not particularly the Knicks specifically. The hate is really for anyone who even thinks they’re better than the Celtics. You’re not allowed to think much less say that. Even if you are actually better than the Celtics.

My brother ended up moving to and raising his kids in Boston

Having a niece and nephew speak with a pronounced Boston accent is a bit brain-breaking for me. And we don't talk about the Red Sox...

[We had Mets season tix, too, but only for a couple of years. It was much easier to get to MSG than it was to get to Shea]

@blogdiva I have, of course. I loved it, even when the team sucked. But we don't all have to like the same things.
