#Bbclaurak asks Zia Yousuf, "What is more important to #Reform, reflecting on that message for calm or making your political statement?"

She asks this five times

He does not answer

She then says it wasn't until Thursday, two days later, that someone from Reform contacted the family.

He ignores that

She then asks, "What is your evidence that this killing was the direct result of advice given to officers?"

He says that because there is "advice that you must prioritise the lives of ethnic minorities"

She then asks, "Do you think the police are institutional racist?"

"Yes," he replies.

@Geri I'm having trouble locating this specific training advice they are referring to. Following a link off the BBC led me to the document below, which looks too brief and general to be used for training. It would be better to locate exactly what they are referring to, otherwise people paint their own pictures in the absence of facts.

@kbm0

You are quite right. It seems Yousuf was making it up.

There is no policy or code of conduct for the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary stating that the concerns of ethnic minorities must be prioritized over others.
โ€‹The force operates under the national College of Policing Code of Ethics, which mandates impartiality, fairness, and non-discrimination for all individuals.
โ€‹While the force has a Race Action Plan, its stated focus is on addressing historic racial disparities in policing (such as stop-and-search statistics), improving trust, and ensuring that victims are treated equally according to their specific needs. It does not mandate prioritizing one group's concerns over another.

It only says:
"Address any disproportionality in our response or outcomes for victims from Black and ethnic minority communities."

@Geri Some interviewer needs to make them stump up with specifics. The only thing I got from that pdf that they might be referring to was the bit about equity vs. colour blindness, but that's a subtle matter of interpretation that warrants intelligent discussion.
@kbm0 mine was not a pdf. Xx
@Geri did she ask if Reform UK Ltd is institutionally racist?
Thought not
