David Shoebridge on this morning

#auspol #Insiders

David Shoebridge did very well imo

Makes a hell of a lot more sense for us to have a defensive capability rather than an offensive one through AUKUS

Great to hear they'll be fighting to lessen the impacts of slashing the NDIS

Interesting he suggested the way forward with the tax changes is to cap the number of negatively geared properties which can be grandfathered although I think they'll pass what Labor has on the table

The Blower scheduling maintainence during the show and having a little hiccup 😮

They do a great job though šŸ™‚

#Auspol #Insiders

@HardBeingGreen just watching. I’ve never seen anyone wipe Speers all over the floor. šŸ˜‚ I actually learnt something that this government and media have no interest in telling us. #insiders #aukus
@samk he wasn't playing his games lol
@samk @HardBeingGreen
Damn, I missed that.
BTW, did he manage to ā€˜tap into’ the anger that’s out there? Did his 5 minutes of fame (not meant disparagingly, but with the exposure the Greens tend get, the 5 mins quip is appropriate I think, sadly so) give him the biggest bang for the time he could get out of it? Asking because I make a point of not watching the show - on principles.

@RaymondPierreL3 @samk

Yeah he did well, I think he hit the talking points be wanted to hit

@HardBeingGreen
I agree - despite Speers trying harder & harder to talk over him & steer him in directions that were not where he (Shoebridge) was going or wanted to go. Silly comments like ā€œbut that was last yearā€¦ā€. Think Shoebridge did well to firmly make his points - despite Speers’ interference - & brought new information to the table. Might watch again to see what I missed as I do find that Speers trying to talk over his guests interferes negatively with my comprehension. šŸ¤”

@RaymondPierreL3 @samk

@Su_G @HardBeingGreen @RaymondPierreL3 I would recommend anyone who is curious should check it out.
@HardBeingGreen Shoebridge made a lot of sense despite Speers efforts to derail things.
I'm glad Shoebridge managed to make the point about the ridiculous notion that China might block Australian trade routes through the South China Sea given that almost all of it is going to China.
I didn't watch the rest of the show. It irritates me a bit too much.

@smitjo @HardBeingGreen

I stopped watching Insiders when Spears turned up and he was judged by me to be an incompetent useless idiot.

I have largely stopped watching the ABC for news content as all they seem to employ now are ex-Murdoch toadies who bring a right of centre agenda to almost everything … and, of course, the ABC being:
(1) totally unable to say the word ā€˜Genocide’ when ā€˜covering’ the Zionist wars in the Middle East; and
(2) institutionally completely afraid of its own shadow.

I prefer listening to #TheShot #podcast and watching #SBS World News.

@Devorppa @HardBeingGreen Same for me. I like the Back to Back Barries podcast too.
And The Point.

@smitjo @Devorppa

It was much better when Barrie was hosting but such is life. I think Speers does ok apart from going for gotchas and sticking with them too long if the guest doesn't bite

I think it's good to get a taste of other political voices and Insiders is a way to do that without going down some very scary rabbit holes or supporting News Limited

@HardBeingGreen @Devorppa I listen to the Back to Back Barries Guardian podcast. That's a good source of different perspectives.
