If you think that it looks like a basketball hoop "base” (?), you are not entirely wrong, but it is much smaller and going to hold some controllers and batteries in addition to a LED matrix.
Unlike my first attempt I'm trying to make the design extensible so that even if I mess one part - I can still reuse other parts without reprinting; and furthermore could add more parts later on without needing to change the other parts.
We'll see how it'll come out of the printer!
Hm... but maybe I should try match the sizes of components more tightly...
I thought that if error rate is +-0.2mm - I should leave a bit of space between components that fit into each other, but looking at YouTube tutorials I don't see anyone else doing the same.
I also plan to stabilize the mast by pulling strings through the holes in it and into the corner holes on the bottom board. We'll see if it is needed in reality and how much it helps
