Gonna be a short tournament for the #USMNT if they give up easy-peasy training-ground set piece goals like that!
This is just pitchin' and catchin' in the backyard US can't afford to be this easy to play against bsky.app/profile/cjze...

That is a BAAAAAAAAAANGER from Jedi Robinson Hooooo boy 🚀
I thought the referee was playing advantage when he waved play on after Sane tripped Pulisic from behind on the transition sequence... but apparently he didn't see a foul??? That's a foul and a yellow card, very straightforward. Quite questionable from Chilean ref Piero Maza
Seeing fingers pointed at Miles Robinson for the goal, but it's not just a dropped mark. He lets Nico Schlotterbeck (#15) leave his area, maybe b/c he figures he's in an offside position. But Schlotterbeck is shuffling over to set a pick on Tim Ream to release Kai Havertz for the free header...
I don't know the USMNT's specific rules for responding to this scenario. But I'd guess better communication's needed between the 2 US center backs - and/or Miles seeing the danger sooner and getting across to at least put a body on Havertz and make it more difficult for him. Closer look here:
It's also fair to ask whether the refs should have stopped this. Picks, or "impeding the progress of an opponent" in IFAB language, are supposed to be illegal; as can be seen here, Schlotterbeck is clearly not attempting to play the ball. But teams get away with this stuff constantly.
We're being told it's just cramp, but... if you're a religious sort, consider lighting a candle or two for Jedi Robinson's left hamstring
Hot day at Soldier Field? Yeah sure, if you're ENGLISH or something I guess
Raum and his teammates mad because Tim Weah's much quicker than him 💉
Poch presser underway... "The reaction [to trailing] was really positive, and after we finished the first half, we dominate Germany, and we create chances... it was an amazing challenge for us to see how we react, how we show character, how we show togetherness how we start to play under pressure"
The good, the bad and the ugly on a sunsplashed Saturday at Soldier Field. “We want to show our skill and our quality, but it doesn't come without being combative.” #USMNT www.mlssoccer.com/competitions...

USMNT turn up the intensity ah...
USMNT turn up the intensity ahead of World Cup

It was a case of the good, the bad and the ugly for the US men’s national team in their final 2026 FIFA World Cup preparation friendly against Germany on Saturday afternoon, and not in that order.
