Quite questionable from Chilean ref Piero Maza
Seeing fingers pointed at Miles Robinson for the goal, but it's not just a dropped mark. He lets Nico Schlotterbeck (#15) leave his area, maybe b/c he figures he's in an offside position. But Schlotterbeck is shuffling over to set a pick on Tim Ream to release Kai Havertz for the free header...
I don't know the USMNT's specific rules for responding to this scenario. But I'd guess better communication's needed between the 2 US center backs - and/or Miles seeing the danger sooner and getting across to at least put a body on Havertz and make it more difficult for him.

It's also fair to ask whether the refs should have stopped this. Picks, or "impeding the progress of an opponent" in IFAB language, are supposed to be illegal; as can be seen here, Schlotterbeck is clearly not attempting to play the ball.
But teams get away with this stuff constantly.
