Badly designed doors on an LG refrigerator. The fact that users felt the need to add signs to the door is indicative of bad design. Don Norman wrote a book called “The Design of Everyday Things” with an entire section on badly designed doors. We have learned nothing! (At least, LG hasn’t.)
@stuartmarks I am very disappointed by both LG and Samsung appliances. The washer I bought in 2024 has all the same problems as the previous one I bought in 2002. Looking at the modern clothes dryer, yep, the lint management is just as terrible and hard to clean as the 2002 model. It is like they have zero lived experience with their own appliances and/or absolutely do not give a shit about doing a better job. The new ones have AI though…
@bondolo @stuartmarks I'm curious what led you to buy the second LG. Were there redeeming factors, or was it just what was available in a pinch situation?
@nainostrebor @stuartmarks We bought the LG again because the Samsung was no better and we didn't see other good options. Accessibility was a significant consideration for us and there is a whole saga about that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBADy6-gDBY which included editorials in major Korean newspapers, apparently entirely for naught.

@bondolo @stuartmarks Oof. That's terrible. Thank you for sharing.
@stuartmarks But maybe easy to keep clean? One of the annoyances of our Samsung is that I find it difficult to keep the stainless steel behind the handles clean. LG’s design would seem to at least keep less than white glove usage hidden
