I regularly disagree with both the OOP purists AND the composition-over-inheritance folks. Functional versus imperative styles too, though nobody is really arguing for imperative programming supremacy.
Frankly, every programming "revolution" since structured programming has been too dogmatic.
Some of the perennial flowers in my front garden beds are bulbs that I got from one of my great aunts. Nobody knew that, but now you do.
My family has propagated a bunch of plants, some for more than 100 years. Grandma's peonys were originally her grandmother's peonys. The same lilacs, hydrangeas, raspberries, peonys and irises propagated across multiple human generations. We don't know how far back it goes for some of these, we've lost who in the family first cultivated these plants.
