Software is where the magic happens. Enigmatic tooting almost certainly does not refer to anybody who you might know.

#IntelliJ automated #Java Math.clamp refactoring is great unless the expression can result in max < min. This happens to me with bounding box calculations where initialization is to Float.INFINITY and Float.NEGATIVE_INFINITY and reduce by iteration. If the set of items in the iteration is empty the Math.clamp throws an exception where Math.min/max do not. I'm not complaining, just be safe out there kids.
Friends who have been in the ICU for more than a week and told nobody. I am not entitled to know all their personal medical challenges but I am entitled to being able to tell them that I care.

I will admit it, I am already writing my #Java code as if value classes were in the language. I have only rarely had to redo something inline for performance/garbage reasons.
Sure, twenty years ago maybe.

We all know that it is harder to find people to follow on Mastodon. Use boosts to promote accounts that you believe are worth reading. Boost only their best stuff, of course, but you make your own feed more interesting and complete by sharing at least some boosts.

(Sorry, most accounts that are more than 50% boosts and/or more than 10 toots a day aren't going to get a follow from me).

For the other "trailing edge" folks, be aware that when you upgrade from #MacOS Sequoia to Tahoe there will be probably be an incredibly long pause during first login with no status or progress. Just enjoy the new wallpaper for a couple minutes and be patient.

I have always preferred careful quite observation with accompanied reflective musing to brainstorming as a way to generate ideas.

Give me a good conversation and a couple days later I will have a whole bunch of ideas.

Great article, I want to reference this in a code comment but be sure the link doesn't go stale. I know, I will use an archive.org link.

"This URL has been excluded from the Wayback Machine."

for a blog on a commercial service. Only a user page at a university would be more ephemeral. Wasn't this why archive.org was created?
