Actually, I travel around Poland quite often because it's my home country. Sometimes situations like that happen, but not any more often than in Southern Europe (the Balkans)
I was the first family member in 70 years to visit my dad's parent's home country. He was French born and his parents were from Poznan. Poznan is where I drove the car into the opposite lane's ditch after avoiding a head on. It was the 10th time in Poland. Poznan was lovely. My dad was jealous. lol.
@s007ii Very interesting story. Poznań is a very important city for Poles, full of amazing architectural monuments and landmarks. I also recommend visiting my home region, Lower Silesia, with its beautiful mountains—the Karkonosze Mountains
Oh I wish I could have gone to Katowice, Pope John II fave place. I remember driving though the towns, even if the population was less the 2 people, there still was a church in every zentrum
