Last week I attended the Montreal Timepiece Show. Usually the Timepiece Show is stationed in Toronto and Vancouver but this year was its inaugural coming to Montreal. Lots of smaller brands and indies showing up including Maurice Lacroix, Christoper Ward, Studio Underd0g, Baltic, Yema, Marathon and many more. #watches #watchesofmastodon
There were way too many #watches I saw there that I could legitimately talk about for a week or 2. To make it more digest, here are 4 picks I really enjoyed.
- the Echo/Neutra Rivanera Piccolo is a greyscale minimalist take on the Tank design. Light case and subdued pattern on the dial help make it easy to wear.
- the Straum Jan Mayen has many incredible dial variants but the bracelet featuring butterfly clasp and on the fly micro-adjust on both ends is the true standout.

- the Christopher Ward Twelve 660 is what happens when CW goes full minimalist on the Twelve to fit within 6.6mm of case height. Sporty integrated bracelet design yet dress watch specs. Manual wind Sellita SW210-1 with custom bridges, no lume, no second hand.
- the Yema Superman Tourbillon CMN.31 is a stupidly expensive attempt at putting a tourbillon in their collection. Very silly in a titanium diver but I appreciate it as a manufacturing demonstration.
