Had a concert yesterday, and I wore the only watch I have that is _truly_ a tool watch for me. This video shows moving from time to metronome mode, and a few changes of tempo on the metronome. Not demo'ed is the tone generator ("pitch pipe"), but you can see the markings for it between the 10 and 2 indices.

I bought this straightforward dive watch mainly to see and experience the VH31 movement - I wanted to see if a seriously inexpensive quartz watch could have a sweep on the dial I could live with. Answer is yes!

#Cartier has so many case shapes in their archive that they just keep bringing them back from time to time. Last year was an exception for #Rolex with the announcement of the Land Dweller. This year as often is the case, there is not much to say about them at #WatchesAndWonders2026. The new #watches are extremely safe iterations with new dial variants and materials. Just my opinion but I will say however that the revival and new take on the Jubilee motif dial is kind of ugly 😅. #watchesofmastodon

#GrandSeiko announced a lot of stuff for #WatchesAndWonders2026. The biggest takeaway is that people expected smaller dive #watches using Spring Drive UFA movements and they delivered exactly that. SLGB023 and 025 aka Ushio 300 feature 40mm titanium case, caliber 9RB1 which is basically a 9RB2 with power reserve complication on the front, titanium bracelet with on the fly micro-adjust and diver extension. Only issue is price puts them in direct competition with the Submariner. #watchesofmastodon

The recent revival of #UniversalGeneve courtesy of #Breitling may be a good opportunity to briefly post about the UG 542109. It is nowhere near as popular as the ubiquitous Polerouter or the Compax but is as a result a very affordable way to get a classic thin dress watch featuring 2 hands, a plated 35mm case and a manual wind caliber 1-42. Many dial variants exist, mostly either stick markers or roman numerals. #watches #watchesofmastodon
