First post, so I thought I’d get this out of the way. I love my Apple Watch, it is my everyday-carry device. But as a newbie watch enthusiast, my Apple Watch is getting less and less time on my wrist. Still developing my own taste. I’m enjoying the variety this new habit has introduced.

@ichichich I recently brought my 1991 Swatch Gent Broadcast 📻 back into rotation with a new strap and battery. Great memories!

(I admit that it could use a little Polywatch polishing. But the wristwatch still works and the scratches add character.)

I recently had the opportunity to try another #Cartier Tank Basculante but this time a 2390. This means that it is quite large and a manual wind unlike the previous one which was small and quartz. The joy of the gimmick is just as short-lived and even more expensive. The Tank Basculante is typically a fun watch to play with for an evening but not necessarily to own imho. #watches #watchesofmastodon

Welp #Skmei watch came in. For $20 it has astonishingly good build quality. At least thus far. Will report on whether or not it turns my wrist green. It has *heft* - definitely not just a plastic shell. The negative display is regrettable but manageable. But *weirdly* - and maybe this is a Skmei thing, dunno, this is my first one - this is the very first digital watch I've ever seen that *doesn't hack* - that is, you can't set the seconds!!

#Panerai has definitely been trying these past few years to build smaller #watches and to put more fun/colors into their recent releases. Case in point with the 38mm Panerai Luminor Due PAM01552 and Luminor Due Pastello PAM01309. Whether their designs are well received remains err… up to debate 😅. #watchesofmastodon
