inb4 some weird nerd tries to explain that this is a win actually because it shows something something AI vuln hunting something something when in reality it shows just how poorly engineered something so critical to security is once people start actually digging

@cR0w

A lot of the AI vuln hunting hype feels like these big software companies are just cramming for a last minute deadline that they've been ignoring for years.

@DaveMWilburn The whole spin on "look how well we're doing" with the vuln hunting just shows how shit their products have been all along and we're all lucky there haven't been more incidents due to the poor engineering.
@cR0w @DaveMWilburn It really feels like software development methodology in the US private sector is fundamentally broken and has been for a long time due to the incentive being to shovel as fast as possible to produce a mound of shit that happens to bear a passing resemblance to a prize race horse on paper.

The prize race horse in question...

Parents have twin daughters and one is the eternal optimist, the other a total cynic. One Christmas they decide to test the limits, so they get every hot toy and latest gadget for the cynic, figuring she has to be impressed by at least one, and for the optimist they get a truck full of manure. Xmas morn and the girls come down and they cynic rips through the mountain of gifts in no time, and snaps "is that it?" But the other one ... (1/2)

(2/2) The other one dives headfirst into the manure and starts flinging it everywhere.
The parents, completely baffled, have to stop her and ask what she's doing.
She eagerly responds: " with all this horse shit, there's gotta be a pony around here somewhere!!"
@DaveMWilburn @cR0w ...and will ignore again after the date of the test, yes
@cR0w it's almost like they want to fail, so they can sell you the long term support contract.
@cR0w @msb Jeeeesus, I was scrolling my feed and stopped on a Start Trek image expecting an awesome alt-text from @nocontexttrek but it’s just @cR0w instead with a sub par alt-text. Tsk tsk this place went to the dogs (j/k cR0w is amazing go follow them)
