I'm taking an overnight train for the first time this weekend, any advice for first timers? Headphones, earplugs, sleep mask, attire? Thanks for the advice in advance

If its a nice ish train/class, there will be bedding and probably there will be light switches - so you likely won't need eye mask.

It can be cold! I would usually wear jeans, tshirt and jacket/jumper and remove my jeans under the covers to sleep. Or wear trackies and sleep in them.

Ear plugs worth having if you're sensitive to noise - probably 1/3 will snore!

Red wine or diazepam won't go astray if either of those are your thing

@jedsetter great feedback thanks, it's the nightjet train from Vienna, so it's about a 12 hour ride, I'm quite excited, just a train first for me

@tstruthers comfortable earplugs are a must, sleep mask is not crucial since the cabin gets quite dark but it doesn't hurt
