The Trump administration is effectively telling the world that we can’t even save our own citizens, let alone help anyone else, when it comes to ebola.

Ebola is easy to contain with appropriate protocols. We have facilities specifically designed for this purpose. The problem is Trump created a cult of people unwilling to listen to public health guidelines, and he knows if ebola hits the US he won’t be able to contain community spread. He fucked around, we’ll see if he finds out.

I'm actually not worried about ebola. It's not airborne, and there is no asymptomatic transmission. Just don't touch the fluids of a visibly sick person. Just don't touch strangers at all. Us with our woke science-based worldview will do just fine. Ebola isn't covid. It's only the fuckwits who will die horribly. And their kids, of course. Hell, I bet even they aren't so dense as to laugh this one off.

I think we'd have to ignore a lot of facts and evidence already on the record to conclude that the racist psychopaths in & advising this administration wouldn't intentionally seed & exacerbate this specific crisis for political, ideological and personal gain.

Yes, the whole, 'Cases are down we can take our masks off now. Oops! Somehow that magically led to cases going back up again. Who could have predicted that?!' and 'Covid is harmless for kids, and they can't transmit it to adults even though they transmit every single other bug they come across'

Stuff like that did a LOT of damage to public trust

Then of course there was the whole caving to terrorists thing, dropping the national mask mandate when the trucker terrorists threatened to come home to the US from Canada

It will be a big project to rebuild public trust. A smart government would start today, and not put it off

@mcnado Do you think he wants to control the spread? He has been trying to decrease the "surplus" population for years (and I call that projection and he has). Covid - nope, let them die. Ebola - nope, let them die. Prices aren't high , let them die.

I was using substack for a long time until a nice guy from here suggested I come over (ai support sucked, too many lies and harassment not taken care of). That acct by a Nobel laureate said he (chump) wants us dead (can't quote it).

Well, why the heck would they put so much money & effort into getting to the moon & Mars? If all they wanted was to mine minerals, they'd just send robots onto asteroids, like they used to. But now they're using our tax $ to fund an escape hatch for the Epstein class et al after they've succeeded in destroying Earth's ecology, leaving the rest of us behind - if there IS anyone left - after they've succeeded in milking all the available money out of the world's economies.

The ultra rich used to just create their own islands to escape the social, environmental, legal & other consequences of their vulture capitalism - remember that? But climate change caught up with them and now private, artificial islands moored to the ocean floor no longer offer unassailable retreats from society & limits on their power.

@mcnado sad thing is, basic barrier nursing, masks, eye protection, gloves, bleach solution, keeping infected in own space, that would probably be sufficient to isolate the infection, even at a makeshift clinic.

Trump almost died from COVID, even though the press never wanted to admit it.

If the billionaire elite think they are going to be able to avoid ebola in a society that has been groomed to reject infectious disease control protocols and science itself, they need to think again.

Remember the rose garden ceremony for Amy COVID Barrett? It was a superspreader event.

If they treat ebola like they treated COVID (and they will), the outcome could be even more catastrophic.

In all fairness, Biden had the public health guidelines changed to reflect the analysis of consulting groups, as opposed to obvious fucking truth that everyone now suffers from immunological collapse.

And, the other 47.5% of the electorate are that bullshit up, like the first 47.5% ate up Trump’s.

Ebola is hard to have an uncontrolled pandemic of; it kills people very quickly and needs contact with or contamination by infected bodily fluids to spread. You don't just get a little cough and hop on a plane or go out to a concert before you realise you've killed 100 people.

Measles, bird flu or antibiotic-resistant TB, that's what'll do it.
