Anyone successfully running #OBS with an #NVIDIA card (whether software or hardware encoding)?

What’s your #Linux distro? Comments welcome!

Edit: your info on DaVinci Resolve is welcome too. I’m on Debian, & nothing worked for Resolve except NVIDIA proprietary drivers.

@meljoann Linux Mint 22.3 with 2080ti.

I gave up on DaVinci Resolve until I can justify the US$300 price to access H.264 encoding.

Kdenlive is what I am using for basic (Premiere-like) editing. I would love to go back to DVR, but #FOSS will do for now.

H.264 is simply a great compromise for quality and file size.

@meljoann if I could, I would be using Shake. This was my favourite, ever, compositor. I have loathed AfterEffects for all 30+ years that I’ve had to use it. Nuke? Meh. Same goes for the 2008 era Autodesk tools that I’ve blissfully forgotten.

Adobe Premiere was never fun either.

I wish I could get a bit more time with Blender’s video editing and compositing tools.

@ambientspace I did enjoy Kdenlive. My problem is a love using green screens a little toooo much lol… super heavy, I need GPU acceleration and Kdenlive said “no” :(

@meljoann this Blender #GreenScreen YT tutorial looks super-useful. Starts *very* basic, but then get into the very useful parts.

I will be using this myself.
