#GenderedIntelligence has published its analysis of the new #EHRC Code Of Practice at https://ow.ly/EXNE50Z4QwJ

The new Code empowers those who want to exclude #trans people from services and spaces and makes life harder for those who want to support trans people. It sets dangerous precedents.

But I was struck by this positive slide from its Facebook post at https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1DyD9e4aSi/

#LGBTQ #transgender

I like this "positive slide". Even though it rather refers to legalities (important enough).

The paragraph above (and the analysis) describes, though, how the danger of everyday life getting more harmful is very, very real. Confrontations, harassment, attempts to deny service or difficulty in the workplace can become very real, and resorting to legalese is not always easy in the middle of a situation.

More education is necessary. Fighting the Code is necessary. Political action.

Yes, @kiwi2002. There is serious risk of vigilantes feeling empowered, and acting illegally. Maybe violently.

A lot will hinge on whether police can be relied upon to take a firm stand against toilet vigilantes.
