When a game wants you to choose between a pistol and a revolver, what do you choose? What is the difference? I don't know much about guns.

@antoniav pistol. Revolver is simpler but going to have less shots, you'll have to reload more. A pistol can have many more in the magazine and will reload faster, too. Unless the game just gives you unlimited ammo 😂

Revolver Vs Pistol | Pros And Cons Examined

What are the differences between revolvers and pistols and which firearm is the best choice for your needs? Explore the pros and cons of each type of weapon.

The Primary Source
@antoniav Revolver for high damage but slow reload and less ammo capacity. Pistol for faster reloads and more ammo but less damage.
@Esoteria @antoniav Also revolver in games usually have more recoil than pistols which makes aiming with them harder. But if u can aim properly the higher damage makes up for that.

Oh, I see. Thanks. I think I'm gonna be a pistol person then. I usually go for a stealthy sniper when I play games with shooting, but that is not an option in this game it seems.

@antoniav @Esoteria Which game is that?

@Turr1caN @Esoteria

It's called The Sinking City, by the same people who made the Sherlock Holmes games. It's mostly a detective game, and I think I would've liked it more if they had just let it be a detective game, and dropped all the shooting monsters stuff.

@antoniav @Turr1caN I may have played that. Is it the one based on H.P. Lovecraft’s works?

@Esoteria @Turr1caN

Yes, it is. I Iike the detective parts, but don't like the shooting monsters part of the game. But that may be partly because of my expectations, thought it would be just a detective game like the Sherlock Holmes games. Maybe I'll like it more if I quit now, and play it again in a few months and know what to expect before I start🤷🏼‍♀️ at least I know I want to invest in upgrading the pistol rather than the revolver now😊

@antoniav @Esoteria Ohhh nice. I played "Crimes and Punishment" and "The Devils Daughter" back then. I remember it was like playing a Sherlock movie.

@Turr1caN

I love the Sherlock Holmes games. Suppose I assumed The Sinking City would be more similar, genre wise. But find the shooting monsters part mostly just annoying.
