GrapheneOS@KewlCat @FelixDefrance @aeris It would still work on GrapheneOS with sandboxed Google Play if that was what was wrong. They should not be requiring Google Play but probably do. The error message indicates that they're actively going out of the way to detect and ban an OS not licensing Google Mobile Services. It's possible it can be made to work on GrapheneOS as they do not appear to be using the Play Integrity API for it. Some users report it works but it doesn't mean they aren't banning it.
@KewlCat @FelixDefrance @aeris It's possible they're rolling out a service-side change banning other operating systems with information sent by current versions of the app already. These changes are often gradually phased in for a small number of users for testing while minimizing how many users will experience issues initially so they can decide if they want to roll it out further. If that's what's going on then complaints being made right now are crucial including from people not impacted yet.
