Telling people to use WhatsApp over Signal, or in conjunction with Signal, is stupid.

PLEASE do not use ANYTHING owned by Meta for resistance work.

I promise you, whatever excuse or reason you're thinking of does NOT matter. You are not safe using Meta products. Period.

What'sApp is supposedly E2EE (although I think they just settled a case that alleged they could read your messages, so that's fun), but they collect metadata, which allows them to paint a rather broad picture of who you're talking to and when you're talking to them.

@BoredBakon Meta is not a trustworthy company. And claims of theirs that have not been firmly verified by disinterested expert sources are not to be trusted. And even then, might not still be true TOMORROW. If the stakes are high, just stay away from them.
