What is up with Netflix suddenly having all these documentaries about dead presidents? IDGAF about any of them. They were all colonizers. Washington, Roosevelt (I think there's one about both of them), Garfield, and more I can't remember off the top of my head.

it's worse since I watched the Sitting Bull documentary yesterday. So many more recommendations of docudramas about these white men have appeared in my recommended.

I took Native American history way back in college in the early 80s and I knew some of the story but the documentary covered so much more and made it live in a way just reading about it and hearing a teacher lecture about it did not.

I have felt heavy with sorrow since I finished it yesterday, thinking about all the genocide, the slaughter of the bison, people fighting to retain their ancient way of life and being forced to assimilate. Seeing it in a story form makes it more real and immediate than words on a page do. Even though I knew these things, it still hit hard like it was new.

When I get reply guys being mad when I say the Democrats are as bad as the Republicans, I know they don't know the real history of the US. Just the factory school version that's full of lies about glory and heroism.

The US is built on the blood of millions of non-white people and is evil to its root. It's been an engine of destruction throughout its history; a manifestation of Leviathan in all its deeds.

@ruemaleficent That’s what the two-party democracy of corporate sovereignty is ground on: give the people the appearance of a free choice while actively taking more freedoms away. An ethically sustainable democracy would have elected representatives and delegates from diverse interests, not just those invested in antitrust monopolies burning up all the people’s resources on the colonial expropriation of non-renewable resources to feed the industrial growth of its corrupt Empire. It will either cause a great collapse or the waste of its capital on a MAD arms race will result in our oblivion!

@Dialectician Preaching to the choir here: I'm an anarchist. haha

I actually think all states are evil and "democracy" is tyranny of the majority.

@ruemaleficent Actually fishing, not preaching for a counter, as the opposition to the populist tyranny of majorities must be otherwise. If no form of democracy can be effective, neither can any form of voting on the basis of any ethical mediation. The presupposition is: humans are not capable of achieving any kind of ethically sustainable morality. Or it could be claimed indigenous people already had that until the contagions spawned from the colonial armies of agrian industry took it from them. Doing so it ended any wellbeing and flourishing for all by giving us an evolutionary dead end of Empires warfare.
