What I do know is that John Paul 2 apologized for all the atrocities committed by the church over the millennia, the dungeons, torture of people, hot irons applied to people's bodies, bodies being ripped apart by tying limbs to four horses and whipping them to make them run. All this to extract money from the poor, to convert them to this evil cult of genocidal conquistadors and marauding missionaries and pedarast priests. All the power mongering and meddling in politics and state affairs. Conquest of many continents through the murder of men, and rape of women. Looting of gold and art. Instilling shame in the natives by teaching them sex negativity. Cultivating fear by spreading self-flagellating penitente Christianity, and by making the natural, normal natives wear a torture and execution device ( crucifix ). All that covered by an eloquently worded apologia.
However an apology is genuine only if accompanied by reformed behavior so the mistakes are not repeated.
In this case, apology was just a ruse to carry on with business as usual. The crocodile tears did not wash away the blood on this cult's hands.
How do I know this? In 2024 & 2025, I was at the Hope Services homeless shelter in Kona, Hawai'i, ( a Catholic charity ),.where many poor people confided in me that they were being abused by the security guards, but didn't dare speak out for fear of losing food and shelter, and more importantly, of facing retaliation.
Then, I was personally abused and physically assaulted by the security guards there. I politely approached the Catholic church leaders, who completely shirked responsibility.
So now I'm going the way of Sinead O'Connor, and am determined to get Justice, not just for myself, but for everyone.
