In 2019 the remains of a 17th century cargo ship were found. Conservationists spent years documenting and preserving much of the structure, but some pieces could not be saved. So a maritime archaeologist was left with a decision as to what to do with those pieces. Scientists decided to turn the wood into fibres to be ecological with their use.
