#Isaacman said it is important for #SpaceX’s #Starship and #BlueOrigin’s #NewGlenn rocket 🚀 to reach higher launch cadences to support not just Artemis III but many future missions to the lunar 🌙 surface. #NASA is clearly watching both closely.

During Artemis III, the #Orion spacecraft will launch (presumably with four astronauts 🧑‍🚀) on a #SLS rocket. In Earth orbit, they will rendezvous with one or both of NASA’s #HLS (Starship’s upper stage and a modified #BlueMoon lander)

#NASA “received responses from #SpaceX and #BlueOrigin to meet our needs for a late 2027 rendezvous docking and test the interoperability of both #landers in advance of a #moon landing attempt in 2028” https://aerospaceamerica.aiaa.org/nasa-received-responses-from-spacex-and-blue-origin-on-artemis-iii-isaacman-says/

NASA ‘received responses’ from SpaceX and Blue Origin on Artemis III, Isaacman says

Aerospace America
The #MoonFall mission aims to land 4 drones near the lunar 🌙 South Pole by 2028. Each drone will be approximately 2m in diameter and 1,2m tall, using their propulsion system to make multiple flights over the course of a single lunar day (up to 14 Earth days) to survey the lunar surface at potential #Artemis landing sites https://www.jpl.nasa.gov/missions/moonfall/

Now - 2029 21 landings, #robotic 🤖 missions to scout the lunar South Pole region

2029 - 2032 early habitation and logistics operations, delivery of up to 60 tons of cargo, nuclear surface power 🔋

2032 semi-permanent habitation modules with spacious interior for crew 🧑‍🚀 living and operations

Moon Base - NASA

The Moon Base is a central component of NASA's Artemis program, aimed at establishing the first sustained presence on the Moon. Located near the lunar South Pole, the Moon Base will serve as a hub for science, technology demonstrations, and exploration. Through a phased approach that begins with robotic systems and evolves toward continuous operations, the initiative is designed to help unlock new scientific discoveries, advance technologies needed for future deep space missions, and foster an emerging lunar economy.
