1/ Still in the final stages, but #PaulsYard #NoMow lawn is coming together.

A random guy, in a nice car, if it matters, stopped the other day and said it is looking good. The conversation started with, "You must really hate mowing." LOL #Gardening

12 raised #Garden beds on the right

2/ #PaulsYard fig trees are growing and the blackberry bushes are being dealt with. Still going with the cedar theme. #Gardening

@paul

Can you have fig trees outside year round!?

@FallsMom We're right on the planting zone cusp. We could but would have to protect them somewhat. My brother is more northern than me and he does. He covers his in the winter and they seem to do well..

@paul

My daughter in DC has them, I live in NE OH and never imagined figs were possible anywhere in Ohio! Good to hear about your gardening projects!

@FallsMom He's like 40 miles north of me between Cincinnati and Dayton. I am down in the #AppalachianOhio dip.
@FallsMom @paul
As Paul said, up here in NE Ohio they would need winter protection for the fruit to ripen. Either wrapping in carpet or bending them over and covering with leaves. You could also grow them in large containers and store them in the garage,again with protection for the stems. I have a large clump that I cut to the ground each year. No figs but a beautiful seven foot high ornamental by the end of summer.
