#CrowUpdate This, ladies and gentlemen, is a baby crow looking at me from the top of a tree! So, where was it last night? Why did it get me so worried??? (do parent crows tuck the babies to bed early, like humans?)

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure there is only one and that the second one died just one or two days after leaving the nest.

On a side note, I love the utterly confused face baby crows have their first month or so outside of the nest. We have to understand them, ⤵️

We, humans, become aware of the outside world very gradually and slowly. Baby crows, live peacefully in their nest, barely aware of the rest of the world, when it's suddenly thrown at their face, all at once, in the most shocking way (usually a fall from the nest)
A nest near where I often fish was full of babies a few weeks ago. Then one day I saw 3 dead ones on the ground below. I had assumed a predator of some sort had done it but I've since seen one remaining one in the nest. That has me thinking the killing was done by either the survivor or the parents. No idea why though. :(
